Student Accommodation in Bangor

Written by Sam | January 28, 2021

Bangor is in Wales and based on the very North West tip of Wales. It only has one university and that is Bangor University. Bangor is an established university that has many accreditations and has roughly 9,500 students (Full time).

As you are not in a major city, you can get a lot for your money and have a really good lifestyle because you have the Welsh natural beauty on your doorstep, however, you can make it to some of the bigger cities like Liverpool via train, however, who would want to when you have Snowdonia National Park on your doorstep!

If you want to read more about the university and what it is known for and what life is like at Bangor University then this page will help: Bangor University.

Private Student Accommodation in Bangor

In Bangor you have quite a lot of university-owned student accommodation, this means that in terms of private student accommodation you don’t have a massive amount of choice. However, as a first-year, the university guarantees you accommodation and they can supply that.

For this section I am just looking at purpose-built student accommodation, these are big blocks of student accommodation that are usually based around the centre of the town or city and have lots of added extras, some of those extras are:

  • Accommodation manager
  • Games, study, gym and cinema rooms
  • Free breakfasts
  • Bikes to use
  • All inclusive bills
  • CCTV
  • Social events

The only downside can be that it can be far more expensive than private student housing, however, with private housing you are more likely to get your own garden and parking if you are taking a car!
