Bangor is in Wales and based on the very North West tip of Wales. It only has one university and that is Bangor University. Bangor is an established university that has many accreditations and has roughly 9,500 students (Full time).
As you are not in a major city, you can get a lot for your money and have a really good lifestyle because you have the Welsh natural beauty on your doorstep, however, you can make it to some of the bigger cities like Liverpool via train, however, who would want to when you have Snowdonia National Park on your doorstep!

In Bangor you have quite a lot of university-owned student accommodation, this means that in terms of private student accommodation you don’t have a massive amount of choice. However, as a first-year, the university guarantees you accommodation and they can supply that.
For this section I am just looking at purpose-built student accommodation, these are big blocks of student accommodation that are usually based around the centre of the town or city and have lots of added extras, some of those extras are:

- Games, study, gym and cinema rooms
- Free breakfasts
- Bikes to use
- All inclusive bills
- CCTV
- Social events
The only downside can be that it can be far more expensive than private student housing, however, with private housing you are more likely to get your own garden and parking if you are taking a car!

Student housing in Bangor can be cheap, you can get some good places for around £50 per week, in student accommodation that starts at roughly around £110 per week (all bills included and en-suite).
You can also pay a lot more for student housing if you want to, it can go as high as £120 per week.

These are the areas that surround Bangor university city centre campus. Most students live around the main campus because there is enough space to do so.
There are plenty of student houses in Bangor and a lot of students seem to like living in student housing in Bangor because you can be close to the centre or out near the beach or Snowdonia national park.
