Student Housing in Swansea
Because there are only several student accommodations in Swansea, I assume that many students move from university halls into student housing.
Swansea has a city feel but isn’t a big city like Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and all those cities, you can live quite close to the city centre and still get good value on your rent.
However, the best places to live in Swansea as a student are:
- Uplands
- Brynmill
- Bay Campus
- Sketty
Brynmill, Sketty and Uplands are closest to the main university they are also not too far from the city centre which are why they are popular areas.
They are usually spacious houses in those areas and usually go from 3 beds and up.
Average rent for a student house in Swansea is around £85 per month without bills. With bills it would be around £100 per month which is good value in a city.
The further out you go, the cheaper the rent will be.
When searching for student housing, a lot of students tend to start searching in late November and December, if they find a house, they then usually book it so they won’t lose it, this then causes a mini rush.
Make sure you do your research before you book!
