Student Accommodation in York

Written by Sam | April 7, 2021

York is an incredibly popular city even when you don’t take the university in to account. It has some amazing history and architecture that you can mix with the horse racing and it’s local pubs to make sure there is plenty to do.

York is home to York University and is currently ranked 133rd in the world by Times Higher Education. When you consider all the universities in the world, this is a very good ranking.

It is also home to around 16,000 full-time students. On top of that, you have York St John University. York St John is much smaller and has just over 5,00 full time students according to the Times Higher Education.

With both universities they have a lot of sports facilities and societies to get involved in.

York is based in Yorkshire and once you get out of the city, you are just south of the North Yorkshire Moors which has some incredible scenery.

You can also get in to Leeds very quickly and if you want to get to London, you just need to hop on the train south and it is pretty straight forward. It does take a few hours though.

If you want to read more about York itself, the history, and what it is like as a student, then this page will help: York as a student.

When researching the universities, here are some facts, history and notable comments to help you:

Student Housing in York

Being in York there are quite a few student accommodations you would expect there to be less student housing, however, there are still plenty of student housing in the area.

Many students like houses because you can have varying amount of beds, in lots of locations and have plenty of options with a lot of different pricing oppositions.
