Aparto Student Accommodation Review

Written by Sam | August 3, 2021

In this blog, what I want to do is review Aparto Student. I don’t want to review each one of their locations because they might add or take some away, however, they will all be a reflection of their brand and company that sits behind the student accommodation.

If there is something you want to know and I haven’t included it, please let me know and then I can add it into this review and future ones!

The Company: Aparto Student

Aparto Student is a brand that I quite like in all honesty. I don’t work with them directly but do watch them from their social media. They aren’t a massive company like some of the other accommodation providers such as Student Roost, Homes For Students and The Student Housing Company they are smaller but focus a lot on their brand, quality and experience with the student.

They have some key areas they like to make sure they are hot on and they are:

  • Booking with confidence
  • Safety and Community
  • Award winning accommodation
  • Awesome team
  • Great experiences
  • Security
  • Superb facilities
  • Some of the accommodation team bringing pets in

You can tell from their website, social media and their accommodations that they put a lot of effort into creating the right experience and feeling for students who stay in their accommodations.

Their facilities are designed very well and have a focus on being spacious and creating a good environment for the students.

You can see all the information here: Why Aparto

They are owned by a company called Hines which is a Real Estate investment company and they created Apart to manage their student accommodation and investments. This way they could manage it how they wanted rather than relying on someone else.

Aparto’s Accommodation Locations

Currently, they have accommodations in:

  • Aberdeen
  • Brighton
  • Cambridge
  • Glasgow
  • Kingston
  • Lancaster
  • Reading

They have two buildings in Brighton and the rest have one space and with their buildings, it seems as though they have stuck to good quality locations which work best for students and them.

Accommodation Review

Now, this is something which will be interesting. Aparto does have a very high standard of accommodation. They are not alone and some other student accommodations do have a similar level in the standard.

They put a lot of emphasis on their social areas and they get them designed to make them open, comfortable and great spaces where students feel at home. Their rooms are a really good specification, you just need to take a look at some of the photos.

The studios and apartments have plenty of storage, designed well to give you maximum space and actually give you space to live. Many studios don’t have a table or chairs in and just have a kithenette where you can’t eat any food. Their spaces are designed well.

Finally, they don’t seem to just have everything in a plain colour which is very dull for a student, they seem to put in colour schemes to brighten up the rooms and accommodations.

Processes and Systems

This is probably the less exciting part of the review, however, it is one that should hold a big weight in your decision.

Cancellation – If the cancellation is genuine, then the policy is really quite flexible, especially if you give enough time to re-book the room. For example, if you didn’t get the grades, a visa or had to drop out for an extenuating circumstance then they are really helpful. For a genuine cancellation it could cost you nothing, however, if you have decided not to attend or switch to another provider then you would be held to your signed contract. If they can fill your room or you have someone else to move in, it could mean a full take over of the contract and no money lost. However, unless it’s for a genuine reason I think that is completely fair.

Please make sure that you read the cancellation policy before you book!

Booking – We don’t work directly with Aparto and haven’t been through their process, however, it seems pretty simple, just like many other providers. You can book on their website and you will have to follow a few steps to reserve the room and then to book the room you will need your guarantor details if you need them and a deposit or some kind of payment.

Communications with students – Very good from what I believe. Like many others they have their own social media groups, notice boards, chats and a lot goes through the accommodation manager and their team.

Events – They host a lot of events as it falls in line with the experience that they want to create. Check their instagram to see all the events they hold.

As I said before, I quite like Aparto and what they are want and looking to achieve from their student accommodations. From the outset they look like they deliver a great service to each and every one of their students that focuses on the community, events, design of the building and rooms and finally confidence in them and their ability to do a good job.

They put together some great accommodation teams to give that experience and feeliing to the students that they can be trusted and to have a good time and so far it seems to be doing it’s job.

Discover. Trust. Review.
