Student Castle Review
In this blog, what I want to do is review Student Castle. I don’t want to review each one of their locations because they might add or take some away, however, they will all be a reflection of their brand and company that sits behind the student accommodation.
If there is something you want to know and I haven’t included it, please let me know and then I can add it into this review and future ones!
The Company: Student Castle
Student Castle is a company that likes to look after the little things so you, the student, can worry about the bigger things. Little things can mean a lot, so they look at what matters most to students and then focus on those areas.
The most common solution is quick Wifi, this is a must in all accommodations.
They put a lot of time and effort into the design of their rooms, which is fast becoming a standard practice, however, they focus on having large study rooms where groups can get together and get all their work completed.
They employ their own management to manage the building and when selecting the building it seems like they have really strict criteria where they want buildings which are close to campus, have a good selection of transport close by and they can easily get access to shops.
I would say their two main priorities as a company are building that relationship with students and maintaining their buildings to a great standard. For me, I think that’s a great way to make sure that students have a great time at university and can feel at home.
Finally, the one thing I really like about Student Castle is that they always want to know what is happening on the ‘ground’. They ask us what are students asking for, what they want so that they can look to offer. They also ask for feedback which is going to help them improve so much through their time.

Student Castle Accommodation Locations
Currently, they have accommodations in:
- Bath
- Brighton
- Cambridge
- Durham
- Edinburgh
- Lincoln
- Oxford
- York
They are growing their portfolio of buildings using some good methods but also looking at sustainability. I am sure they will be adding even more locations in the coming years. They also have more than one accommodation in a city.
Accommodation Review
I don’t want to review every one of their accommodations because they are all based on the same principles.
In which case I am going to choose accommodation and then tell you more about it and see what it has!
Their accommodation in Brighton is well designed and filled with a great colour scheme so that the rooms aren’t boring and plain. They are also quite big which is a good thing as a studio. Student Castle could make them smaller and look to get more studios in but having them a little bit bigger gives more room for storage and space to move around.
In their accommodations, they are predominantly studios that have a range of twins and some flats in some locations. Twin studios are two beds sharing the same facilities.
Each room that I have looked at has all the best practices with big desk spaces, places to eat, big windows so the rooms are nice and bright and the beds look super comfy!
Every single on their accommodations have a lot of social spaces, so even though you may be living in a studio, you have so much space in the building to work out, study in groups, get involved in the games rooms, watch a film and go to all their events it means that you won’t feel alone and it will feel like a home!
I should probably mention, bills are included in your rent, the picture is only showing what you get in the building in Brighton not everything you get in your room or price!
Below see what you get included in the accommodation in Brighton:

Processes and Systems
This is probably the less exciting part of the review, however, it is one that should hold a big weight in your decision.
Cancellation – If the cancellation is genuine, then the policy is really quite flexible, especially if you give enough time to re-book the room. For example, if you didn’t get the grades, a visa or had to drop out for an extenuating circumstance then they are really helpful. For a genuine cancellation it could cost you nothing, however, if you have decided not to attend or switch to another provider then you would be held to your signed contract. If they can fill your room or you have someone else to move in, it could mean a full take over of the contract and no money lost. However, unless it’s for a genuine reason I think that is completely fair.
Please make sure that you read the cancellation policy before you book!
Booking – We work with Student Castle and you can book on their website which is simple, you just need to choose a room, tenancy length and away you go. You will need your guarantor details and university documents as well. If you get any problems, please let us know.
Communications with students – Yes very good. They have their own portal, accommodation managers, social media groups and notice boards!
Events – They host a lot of events across their accommodations, make sure you get involved. You will find a lot on their Instagram!
Summary
Student Castle are a good accommodation provider. There are a few aspects that I like about them and which is the reason why I work with them. My reasons are:
- They have a clear criteria for selecting buildings
- Good design and functionality in rooms blended with a good design which really helps
- In each of their accommodations they make room for all their social spaces and don’t scrimp on what they need
- They keep it simple.
There are many places that want to be everything to everyone and Student Castle is the opposite, most of the students that stay with them are international students. This is because their prices are higher than some of the other spaces in the cities or towns they are in, however, this allows them to create a product that is really nice, bright and welcoming.
As they say throughout their website, they take care of the little things so students don’t need to worry.
Discover. Trust. Review.
