Student Cribs Review

Written by Sam | September 14, 2021

In this blog, what I want to do is review Student Cribs. I don’t want to review each one of their locations because they might add or take some away, however, they will all be a reflection of their brand and company that sits behind the student accommodation.

If there is something you want to know and I haven’t included it, please let me know and then I can add it into this review and future ones!

The Company: Student Cribs

Student Cribs are a company, similar to We Are Kin in a way, in the fact that they buy student houses up and down the UK and offer them to students each year. To my knowledge, they haven’t gone into building the big blocks of student accommodation because they want to fill the gap of having better student housing.

I don’t personally work with Student Cribs, however from what I can tell and see is that they provide good quality student housing to students in various locations.

As a company, they focus on well-equipped houses, good locations and good finishes in all their properties.

What I particularly like about their website is that they show you some refurbishment examples. They take houses and make them brighter, more comfortable and then offer them to students.

You can find out more about them here: About Student Cribs

Accommodation Reviews

I don’t want to review each one of their student accommodations because they have a lot of student houses throughout the UK and they will all have slightly different aspects. What I want to look at is what you as the student will get from Student Cribs when you live with them.

They mainly have houses throughout the UK rather than the big student accommodation blocks. Their houses are designed to a good standard, they look like functional places with lots of floor space. This means you can move around with ease and have plenty of space for storage!

The house comes with a desk and what I really rate, a table to eat your food if you want to!

You get a doubled bed in pretty much all the rooms I looked at and you still got a desk in your room so you can study!

Each room and house had a good, colourful and interesting design. It wasn’t just painted white or cream and classed as a great space. You get colourful rooms, nice bathrooms and en-suites and social spaces that you would like to spend time in.

Each house is slightly different to the last and this is because of the way the house is built, designed and want to keep any original features.

Each house may have slightly different features depending on the house size and location.

Processes and Systems

This is probably the less exciting part of the review, however, it is one that should hold a big weight in your decision.

Cancellation – Firstly, make sure that you read the full policy, however, if it is because you didn’t get the grades or can’t get a visa then you are likely to be released from the contract, however, if you have found another place and want to move then you will likely have to either pay the rent or find someone who needs somewhere to rent.

Please make sure that you read the cancellation policy before you book!

Booking – Easy, go on to their website and you can fill out a form to make an enquiry or book a viewing. You can also make a direct booking, however, I would always advise viewing it or getting a video of the property.

Communications with students – Yes from what I see and hear they have a good set of communications with students and that involves 24/7 maintenance. They have a portal which they use for all the tenants and social media channels.

Events – They won’t necessarily hold events as they would in a block because not everyone is in the same place, however, what they will do is offer partnerships. discounts and gathering in the areas where they have properties. In the past, they have sent their students a lot of gifts when they have all moved in!

Student Cribs is an exciting brand because they are an established provider of student housing and they have a lot of cities covered.

The houses they buy, create and maintain are better than your average housing because they have put effort in to their design, functionality and been specific on buying good locations and not anywhere around the city.

I think it is a good alternative for those who want to live in a house rather than a big block but want to have a slightly more corporate company feel if that makes sense? They are bigger than the standard landlord who has a few houses. They will have policies and procedures in place for students and staff to abide by!

Discover. Trust. Review.
