  • Inverness is a city in the Scottish Highlands. It is the administrative centre for the Highland council area and is regarded as the capital of the Highlands. Inverness lies near two important battle sites: the 11th-century battle of Blàr nam Fèinne against Norway which took place on The Aird and the 18th-century Battle of Culloden which took place on Culloden Moor.
  • It is the northernmost city in the United Kingdom and lies within the Great Glen (Gleann Mòr) at its north-eastern extremity where the River Ness enters the Moray Firth.
  • It is the long-established centre of the Highlands and lies at the best crossing place of the River Ness, which flows from Loch Ness at the east end of Glen Mor. Situated astride the river and the Caledonian Canal, it commands the route system of northern Scotland.
  • Inverness is the commercial, educational, and tourist centre of a large area. Both manufacturing and services have expanded to meet the needs of the offshore oil industry. Additional industries include fish processing, agriculture, forestry, and electronics engineering.

  • It has plenty of student sports teams and societies you can join and participate in. All facilities are based on campus or close by reducing the travel you need to do.
  • The cost of living in Scotland is cheaper than most areas, if you are in the big cities of Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh then it will be higher than other parts of Scotland
  • Scotland has a low crime rate compared to many parts in the UK
  • Scotland has some amazing scenery right on it's doorstep which you can easily access, you can hike, bike or walk and easily escape the stress of university.
  • Transport and commuting between campuses is simple, hassle free and cheap. After nights out, you can get a taxi if you need to and you would like to.
  • Scotland has several airports and many train connections between the big cities that branch off in to the local towns and villages.
